About the Introductory Offer

The introductory offer is one of the more generous business credit card offers we’ve found so far this year. When you open a new Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card account, you can earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $15,000 on purchases within the first 3 months.

Those points are accrued in your Chase account, and can be redeemed through the Chase Ultimate Rewards® portal.

Once you’re in the Chase Ultimate Rewards® portal, you can choose to redeem points for cash back, travel (your points are worth 25% more when you book your travel through Chase), gift cards, and more.

How Chase’s Ink Business Points Work

Points are accrued in your Chase business account.

Earning Rewards Points

One of our favorite parts of the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card is that you earn 3 points for every $1 spent up to $150,000 on specific categories. Typically these categories feel restrictive in our opinion, but this isn’t the case with the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card.

3 Points for Every $1 Categories:

  • shipping expenses
  • internet, cable, and phone bills
  • online advertising (social media sites and search engines)
  • Travel

Once you’ve reached $150,000 in spend in these categories, each $1 spent is worth 1 point. We like the special categories because many small businesses can benefit from earning extra on these categories. All other purchases that are not included in these categories are worth 1 point for every $1 spent, and there is no limit on the amount you can earn.

Redeeming Rewards Points

Redeeming your rewards points is easy. Cardholders simply login to their account and go to their Chase Ultimate Rewards® dashboard.

Rewards can be redeemed for a variety of flexible options:

  • Cash back
  • Gift cards
  • Travel
  • and More!

Points are worth $0.01 per point. If you redeem your points for travel purchased via Chase Ultimate Rewards®, your points get a 25% boost. Travel points are worth $0.0125 each.

Points Conversion Example:

PointsCash BackTravel via Chase Ultimate Rewards®
100,000$1,000$1,250
50,000$500$600
25,000$250$312.50

If you own multiple businesses using Chase Ultimate Rewards® or have a personal Chase credit card using Chase Ultimate Rewards®, you can also transfer points over to a single account to pool your points together. This is a great way to maximize your points earned each year for redemption options, especially travel.

Protections for Businesses

The Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card comes with a long list of protections for your business that we believe make the annual fee of $95 completely worth it.

This business credit card provides:

  • Fraud protection
  • Zero liability protection
  • Extended warranty protection (+1 year added time period of U.S. manufacturer’s warranty on eligible warranties of three years or less)
  • Auto rental collision damage waiver
  • Purchase protection
  • Travel and emergency assistance services
  • Roadside dispatch
  • Trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance (don’t let flight cancellations ruin get in the way of your business)
  • Cell phone protection (one of our favorites)

Protection Highlights

The standout protection highlights include auto rental collision damage waiver, cell phone protection, purchase protection, and trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance.

The auto rental collision damage waiver means that you don’t need to add insurance at the car rental counter. The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card provides primary coverage (most are secondary), which means that the card covers the rental first and then your company’s auto insurance coverage.

If you pay for your company’s cell phone bill using the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card (you should, because of the 3x points earned), then you and every employee listed on the bill are covered. The cell phone protection coverage includes theft and damage. You get up to $600 in protection for each claim, with a $100 deductible, and up to 3 claims per year.

Purchase Protection covers new purchases made with the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card for 120 days against damage or theft (up to $10,000 per claim and $50,000 per account).

When it comes to business travel, you can always expect the unexpected. If a trip is cancelled or cut short due to sickness, severe weather, or other covered situations, the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card adds a generous layer of protections. This coverage is known as trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance. Your business could be reimbursed up to $5,000 per person and $10,000 per trip for your pre-paid, non-refundable travel expenses. These include airfare, hotels, and more (terms apply).
